Any adult in the Greater Binghamton area is welcome! Our events are open to all experience levels and designed to be have low financial barriers, be social, and community-centered. All events are open to non-members unless it is specifically listed as "members only".
Our vision of community includes adults feeling less isolated, more engaged, and free to try new things without judgment. Contributing—whether by attending, volunteering, or sponsoring—directly helps create that “Village” that many people feel they’re missing.
Volunteers are encouraged to explore their own areas of personal or professional interest/strengths. Volunteers and event leaders with VAST can get hands-on experience with community organizing, group facilitation, creative event planning, marketing, journalism, and even public speaking—all in a supportive, collaborative environment. It’s a unique chance to step into leadership or service without needing formal experience.
